If
you ask me why I am so fond of art,
I cannot find any greater answer than that art
brings me happiness and relaxation. It nourishes and strengthens
my life both physically and mentally.
When I was studying
in elementary school and high school, besides studying
academic subjects, I found myself especially attracted to
art class.
Although the equipment used to paint at that time was not
enough and there were only pencils, wax and oil colors,
this never stopped me from having courage and a dream to
do what I love.
However, even
though many things in my life have changed since then, I
have never given up my painting. Every time I touch my paintbrush,
it's as if my emotions, feelings, thoughts, dreams, and
imaginations spring out to color and express the beautiful
story on my canvas.
I feel very amused,
relaxed, and happy every time I free myself and
enter into the world of art. I do believe that everyone
who has an affection toward art understands what I feel.
They too reach this kind of happiness and relaxation.
During
the time when everyone was affected by the economic crisis,
I was one of the people who unavoidably faced many problems.
Lots of times I felt disheartened, weak, and almost gave
up my working career. However, when I looked at my painting
of the Lord Buddha, his kind and gentle face encouraged
me. I felt like he was saying "life is uncertain.
There are always changes… don't worry, you will come through
this." Once these soothing words came to my head,
I realized that both happiness and sadness depend on your
thoughts. External things will never discourage you. You
will be inspired or downhearted by the thoughts occurring
in your heart.
From that point
on, I was able to encourage myself to solve all
my problems no matter how difficult they seemed. Also,
I came to realize that if you've suffered the most, nothing
can ever make you suffer more. I understand the Lord Buddha's
teachings more clearly. "Dhamma is nature, and nature
is life." Once you understand nature, you will be
able to learn how to live with it.
Because
my painting of the Lord Buddha inspired me, and
led me to such wisdom, I decided to paint 27 pictures of
the Lord Buddha (2+7= 9) in order to pay respect to him.
The reason that I determine the number to be 9 is that I
have faith in this number. I believe that number 9 will
bring prosperity, success, and goodness to life.
Although right now
there are only 27 paintings, I am very proud of
myself and consider them as my success. In the future, there
will be more paintings. I hope that my friends and audiences
still be here for me to give me opinions and inspire me
to create more pieces of art.
Every painting here
comes from my deepest feelings, thoughts, imaginations,
and emotions. They are expressed altogether with the Lord
Buddha's teachings and many useful ideas. These teachings
and ideas can be adapted to use in every day life.
Happiness is never
far away if only we can see it. Now I have found
my happiness from the work that I love. What about you?
Are you looking for happiness and the meaning of life? If
so, I only hope that once you see my paintings, it will
help you to find the path to happiness and the meaning of
life, just as they have helped me to reach such happiness
The message above reflects
my thoughts and beliefs. I don’t think they are much different
from other artists. The works maybe different, but in the world
of art, there’s nothing we cannot communicate and share.
I would like to give my thanks to
The Lord Buddha:
the light of my life
• My parents and my family.
• My teachers who gave me such knowledge of art.
• All of my friends who always encourage me.
• My teaching staff at Baan Phaasaa Thai.
• Opinions and comments from the students and audiences.
• The factors that help me to buy painting equipment.
• Acrylic and oil colors, every grain of sands, every tube of
glue that help me to reach my dream.
• Every body who helped me to find the place for this exhibition.
Remarks: Those who are not mentioned above,
please know that it doesn’t mean
I forget you. You are always in my heart.
